Lipika Samal, MD, is a clinician investigator in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Primary Care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. She is an Internal Medicine primary care physician. The main focus of her research is developing and evaluating clinical decision support tools for primary care physicians in order to improve the quality and safety of chronic disease management. Currently, the majority of her time is devoted to research on clinical decision support in the area of chronic kidney disease. Her research has been funded by the NIH, AHRQ, and PCORI. She is board-certified in Clinical Informatics and is certified by Epic for Clarity Ambulatory Data Model and as a Research Informatics Innovator. She is a Fellow of AMIA and a Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics.
