The CDSiC Centers keep the initiative moving, guided by its Mission and Vision with strategic insights from its diverse array of stakeholders. The CDSiC is led by three Centers, each with a unique focus.
The Operations Center houses a Steering Committee of nationally recognized multidisciplinary experts who advise on and inform a vision for the CDSiC. As the heart of the initiative, the Operations Center plays an instrumental role in shaping the Collaborative’s strategic direction, disseminating findings, and advancing the field of patient-centered CDS (PC CDS). While the Operations Center focuses on vision and dissemination, two other Centers direct the initiative’s thought leadership and research:
The Stakeholder Community and Outreach Center is the brain of the Collaborative, drawing from the expertise of a range of stakeholders, including patients, clinicians, researchers, health IT and CDS developers, informaticians, payers, and policymakers. These stakeholders are organized in four topic-focused workgroups:
- Measurement and Outcomes
- Implementation, Adoption, and Scaling
- Trust and Patient-Centeredness
- CDS Standards and Regulatory Frameworks
These Workgroups develop products such as environmental scans, research agendas, and frameworks that advance the field of PC CDS.
The Innovation Center serves as the real-world testing ground of the CDSiC. This is the Collaborative’s research and development hub that facilitates real-world application of CDSiC tools, learnings, and insights. The Innovation Center has two Cores: the Measurement and Value of CDS Core, intended to conduct projects and initiatives that advance CDS measurement; and the Conducting and Coordinating CDS Projects Core, to conduct and study real-world research and demonstration projects.
